Some of our recent work

These are just a few recent examples of HBC’s work.

Although focusing on North West communties, our experience includes national strategies and campaigns, ranging from household names like Iceland, Organix, Littlewoods, Pilkington and the Tidy Britain Group, to local authorities, Government departments and campaigning groups across the UK.

Overseas work began with supporting a social business, Fishtale to set up its supply base in Kathmandu and has included developing brand and CSR strategy with Woolworths South Africa, in Capetown.  Work for the Iceland Group included working with the supply chain as far afield as Guatemala and Kenya.  A project for the Ministry of Justice involved work in Brooklyn, New York to research communications activity around the concept of community justice.

Study trips to meet and collaborate with social enterprises have provided unique opportunities to work with and learn from community entrepreneurs in South Africa and Bangladesh, and in 2011 HBC took part in a delegation to Cyprus to share knowledge and work alongside its developing social enterprise sector.

    An in-depth review carried out for leading social care charity PSS has created the foundation for a new approach to communications, to support its ambitious business plan.

    Support for Plus Dane has included a communications review and strategy; new systems; an extended communications team; and training courses for its Colleague Academy.

    Work as an expert witness, trainer and mentor for the SSE has led to over 100 community businesses benefiting from hands-on training in brand, communication and media.
